citazione

“I was in the cellar where my family has been producing wine for several generations, when I noticed some old barrels stacked in a corner, ready to be burned after having exhausted their task: to hold for several years the precious wines that have made our territory so famous. And from there the idea.” (barriqule.com)

The journey of oak: from barrel to frame

Our wood comes from exhausted barrels, the barrels used to age fine wines. These oak containers have the task of enriching the wine with unique aromas and nuances, giving complexity and character to the bottles we love so much. After years of service in the cellars, the barrels are heading towards their final cycle. This is where Barriqule comes into play: instead of allowing this precious wood to be forgotten, we recover it and give it new life.

The process is a mix of craftsmanship and innovation. The barrels are disassembled and carefully processed to preserve their veins, the signs of aging and the traces of their previous life. Each oak rod tells a story: contact with wine has left a unique patina, a tangible memory of the past.

description

Barriqule is the eyewear brand born from the idea of Lorenzo Del Tufo who, between the vineyards of Barolo and Barbaresco, imagined creating a new way of describing the lifestyle of food & wine lovers through a refined style accessory, with a personal and authentic character such as eyewear. The name of the brand has an inspiration closely linked to the world of wine: in Langa, home of fine wines recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, barrels precisely mean eyeglasses and the reference to the object from which they are born, the barriques (small French barrels for refining wines), is direct.
