O-I Glass

O-I Glass is one of the world's leading manufacturers of glass packaging for the food and beverage industry. O-I was founded in 1903 as the Owens Bottle Company from an intuition of founder Michael J. Owens, who revolutionized the glass production process over the course of his career. In 1929, the merger with the Illinois Glass Company gave rise to Owens Illinois (O-I). Present today in 19 countries around the world, O-I has 69 production plants and more than 24,000 employees who operate according to a single vision: to establish itself as the most innovative, sustainable and iconic manufacturer in the field of the production of glass containers. O-I in Italy has 11 plants (2 of which are joint-ventures) in which more than 1600 employees operate, located throughout the country and near the basins of final use.
